Detritus for one (2015)
Funded by the National Arts Council of South Africa, the work was first performed at the National Arts Festival in 2015, where it was awarded a Standard Bank Ovation Award. It was subsequently performed at the Cape Town Fringe Festival in 2015 and at the Johannesburg Dance Umbrella in 2017. The work is part of a trilogy of ‘anarchival’ performances, as part of Parker’s PhD research. The work considers memory as a springboard for creative rethinking and reimagining of the archive and the knowledge it contains.
