The Leftover Sacre (2014)

Created while serving as Artist-in-Residency at the Dance Space in Johannesburg, as part of the Dance Forum Residency Programme. The work is a response to the 100-year anniversary of the original ballet, Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring). A group of performers try to reconstitute a version of the famous work by piecing together fragments sourced from some of the many other well-known interpretations (and re-interpretations) of this iconic work, alongside elements taken from popular dances of the 21st century, such as the Time Warp and the Macarena.
